Through The Bible

Adult Seminar: Genesis to Revelation, Sept 2007 - May 2008

As a believer you’ve probably always wanted to have a firm grasp of the Bible, start to finish. Whether you’ve read the whole Bible through before, or whether you started and got stuck at Leviticus, you’ll thoroughly enjoy and benefit from our chronological study through God’s Word.

We'll start with Genesis the first Sunday, September 16, Exodus the next Sunday and so on. You can prepare for the Genesis study by reading chapters 1-4, 6-9, 15-17, 27, 37, 45. Some of you more industrious ones will want to read the whole book. Each week I’ll give you selected high light chapters to read so you’ll be ready for the next Sunday’s study. When we get into the kings of Israel, David, Solomon, etc., we’ll study related wisdom and prophetic writings in the appropriate time periods.

We’ll work through the Old Testament this Fall and begin in the New Testament next year. This is your golden opportunity to do what you’ve always longed for. Don’t miss a session! (OK, OK, if you have to miss a session it will be recorded and available in CD form or at our website for you to download.)

If you don’t already have one, purchase a NIV (New International Version) Study Bible to read through the study. As I’ve told many, a study Bible with all the notes and cross references provides you with the equivalent of a Bible School education! You might also want to pick up The Picture Bible, that gives you the highlights in comic book form. My first time to read through the Old Testament was in the New Living Bible. I found this to be very reader friendly and more like reading a novel. Pick up the New Living Translation or the Message if you want to do your reading in more contemporary versions.

For years I’ve longed for an opportunity to teach through the entire Bible so I’m prepped and ready! I know that God will use this study to ground our congregation in the faith and provide a solid foundation for our Christian lives and ministries. While adults are in this study, kids will be having their own Sunday School classes.
